The Wirral Walking Festival is being hosted by Wirral Tourism and for more information on the festival and to discover the many walks then please visit www.visitwirral.com.

Being situated in Parkgate means that The Ship Hotel is near so many areas of natural beauty.  Stunning views of the Dee Estuary can be seen from our hotel however if you want to get out there and see what else is in the area then below we have suggested some possible walks and even cycle routes (if you have your bike with you!).  They are all moderately easy in ability and should take you no longer than a morning or afternoon (much quicker for some than others!).

We have easy access to the Wirral Way, a 12 mile path of disused railway line that has been covered over to create the perfect traffic-free pathway/cycleway, which runs from West Kirby all the way to Hooton in Chester.  You can hop on and off the Wirral Way at various points and make your walk/cycle ride as long or as short as you like.

We have found a couple of walks and cycle routes that will allow you to explore the local area, you can then return to the Ship for a refreshing pint and a spot of lunch or dinner after working up a hearty appetite!
