Courses

The Wirral peninslar has many stunning golf courses including the famous Royal Liverpool Golf Club in Hoylake which held the 2006 Open and will be hosting the 2014 Open Championships.  Many of Wirral's golf courses enjoy stunning views over the river Dee, to the hills of Wales, to Liverpool's City Skyline and also over the stunning Wirral countryside.  The Wirral has a great selection of both links courses and also has 3 great municipal courses giving you a wide variety of choice of play.  The Wirral is a great place to visit for a golf break as there are many courses to play in such a close vicinity as well as some lovely hotels and relaxing bars and restaurants.  An intersting fact to know is that there are more golf courses in a 100 mile radius from the Wirral than any other part of the country!

STAY & PLAY

Here at the Ship Hotel we like to relieve the stress of organising your golf break by doing it for you.  If you let us know which courses you want to play, when you want to play them we will organise the rest. 

You can enjoy stunning high quality golf during the day knowing that in the evening you will be able to sit down in our lounge bar and enjoy a few well earned drinks along with an excellent homemade meal, and then be rest assured that you will have a comfortable and relaxing night's sleep in one of our guest rooms.

If you have a large party of guests/golfers then why not pass over the hassle of organising it all to us.  We will come up with a personal package for your group to make it as easy as possible for you, after all it's meant to be a relaxing golf break so why not sit back, relax and let us do the work!

STAY

As part of a golf package, we can offer the following discounted rates on accommodation on a Bed & Breakfast basis:

£15.00 per person for 2 courses or £18.95 per person for 3 courses
Dinner is served in our lounge bar from our homemade bar menu (*there is a £3 supplement for steak)

PLAY

If you let us know which courses you would like to play and when, we will organise the rest however our COURSE TIMETABLE should give you a good idea to help you plan when and where you want to play as some days are limited due to competitions etc.

Wirral Golf Classic Competition - September 2013Wirral Golf Classic Competition

The 4th Wirral Golf Classic, a 72 hole Stableford competition for men and women amateur golfers, will be held on 23rd - 27th September 2013 on four beautiful golf courses in Wirral, in the North West of England - Caldy, Heswall, Wallasey and the magnificent Royal Liverpool Golf Club at Hoylake.

All entrants will enjoy the beautiful locations of these fine courses on the coast of this peninsula, overlooking the Rivers Mersey and Dee. Located between Liverpool and Chester, Wirral is a golfers' paradise.

The Open Championships 2014 Royal Liverpool Golf Club - 17-20th July 2014open championships 2014

The Open Championships is back on the Wirral in 2014 at Royal Liverpool Golf Club in Hoylake. It will be the 12th time the Hoylake links has hosted golf’s oldest Major.  The most recent being in 2006 when Hoylake showcased links golf at its best and players, spectators and officials were united in their praise for the course, and for the venue as a whole.  We hope that 2014 is just as successful!
